Climacterium presents a period in a woman’s life before and after the last menstrual period. In our
geographic area, it usually starts between age of 45 and 50 and is characterized by gradual extinguishing
of ovarian function. Women of this age should be presented with options for breast cancer screening
but also pointed to all the changes they would experience with the gradual fall in hormone levels, both
emotional and physical. Healthy life style is especially important in order to prevent osteoporosis.
