Thrombophilias present hematological disorders with the tendency to form blood clot, i.e. thrombus.
Congenital thrombophilias are a consequence of gene mutation in protein genes included in the clotting
system, coagulation. They may be responsible for infertility, recurrent miscarriages as well as late
pregnancy losses. They are often diagnosed in pregnancy since there are no obvious symptoms. With
careful family and personal history, examination of the patient, the possibility of this condition may be
observed. As in other segments of life, measures and modes, diagnosis and therapy approaches must
exist. There are protocols with individualized approach, monitoring of circulation between placenta and
uterus, as well as circulation – Doppler – of the umbilical artery, which determine which therapy is
administered. The cooperation with specialist in hematology, familiar with this specific field, is
necessary.
