Gynecological examination is the basic part of gynecological evaluation. It includes objective
examination of external genitalia, bimanual examination and speculum examination. In physiological
conditions the examination is not painful but may present discomfort so, during the examination, the
patients are placed in the most optimal position for the observing of gynecological organs, as per
doctor’s and midwife’s advice. It is advisable to empty the bladder before the examination to obtain
valid findings.
