NIPS or Non-Invasive Prenatal Screening is a test that is completely safe for both the mother and the
fetus. It includes drawing of maternal blood, which contains fetal cells, and analysis for the presence of
chromosomal aberrations. Optimally, the test is performed approximately at the 10 th week of gestation.
Even though the advantages of this test are early performing and ease of application, which includes
only blood drawing, this presents a screening method without the definitive diagnosis.
